Safe Time

Safe Time is a personal daily protection window of up to 6 hours per day. During your Safe Time you are protected from most hostile actions — but you also cannot launch most actions against others. It is one of Thronewake’s signature departures from Travian (a substitute for the lack of a hero/night-truce), and its exact rules have been iterated on many times.

Main rule (authoritative)

Attacks, raids, scouts, and reinforcements are blocked when any of these is true:

  • you are in Safe Time when sending;
  • the target is in Safe Time when sending;
  • you would be in Safe Time when the action arrives;
  • the target would be in Safe Time when the action arrives.

This applies to both villages and Wilder Sites.

Exceptions (actions still allowed during Safe Time)

  • Send actions to your own villages and your own Wilder Sites.
  • Recall your reinforcements, or send back foreign reinforcements.
  • Send reinforcements to someone who is in their Safe Time.
  • Send reinforcements even when they would arrive during your own Safe Time.
  • Attack/raid/scout an Ancient Capital/Stronghold/Wonder village owned by the Ancients.
  • Attack/raid/scout an Ancient Capital/Stronghold/Wonder village owned by a player — but if you do, your attacking village loses its Safe-Time protection until the next day (12/07).

Diplomacy still applies

Safe Time does not ignore diplomacy. You can only attack valid hostile targets, and only reinforce players you’re allowed to support (alliance/pact members).

Setting & changing Safe Time

  • Enable it in Settings. It can be up to 6 hours per day.
  • A change takes 24 hours to activate. During that wait you can update it within a 1-hour window without restarting the 24h timer; a change after that starts a fresh 24h wait. A pending change can be updated without resetting the timer.
  • You may change your Safe Time at most 3 times per world (the first activation doesn’t count, and changes within 30 minutes of your current time don’t count) (12/07).
  • Your new Safe Time only takes effect after all currently-incoming attacks that would land in the new window have resolved (you can’t retroactively dodge an incoming attack by moving Safe Time onto it).
  • During Beginner Protection you can update Safe Time instantly (no 24h wait).
  • Rested Campaign: during Safe Time you bank resources that grant up to +15% loot when you later attack normal Ancient villages / unowned Wilder Sites.
  • Research: “Safe Time Study” boosts RP generation during Safe Time.
  • The map shows an icon when a player has Safe Time or Beginner Protection active.
